This lesson is a combination of textbook and picture book. We can help students use some reading strategies to understand the text, and then write an email about themselves to reply Robin. Picture book is used as supplementary reading material for the textbook. It can sublimate the emotion and help students understand the meaning of friendship. |
Analysis of the Students: |
Students in Grade 5 have already learned some phrases and sentence structures about abilities from their English books. Therefore, it will be easier for them to understand the the story. However, it's still a little difficult to use the divergent thinking to comprehend something beyond the story itself. Meanwhile, students have already got a lot of common sense of friendship, so they are willing to express their opinions. |
